Carlos Marzal: "Again César Simón"

Titled Complicidades , Carlos Marzal reflects in the latest issue of PS on the work of César Simón . Here I reproduce the text as published by the newspaper Levante-EMV on March 24, 2011:

"The publication of a new monograph on the work of César Simon is a wonderful opportunity to return writing, to his memory and his example, that in me are one and the same thing. The book I speak of is An indoor air to the world (incomplete notes for a dialogue with César Simón) of Begoña Pozo, Alicantino published by the Instituto de Cultura Juan Gil-Albert, and is the result of a long dedication of its author to the work of the Valencian poet. (What a great coincidence, of course, that the names of Caesar Simon and Juan Gil-Albert rejoining here, as it so closely together in the family, in the biographical and the literary were in life.) The truth is that this article more than once, should have been titled, César Simón seimpre , because the height of his work makes him one of the greatest authors of a great generation, that of 50: that of Brines and Claudio Rodriguez , that of Biedermann and Quiñones, of and Luis Valente Fair, Angel Gonzalez of , Defarges Ricardo Caballero Bonald and - although at times very confused not included in anthologies and certain counts. All the work of Caesar his poems, his particular novel Between boredom and a clandestine love , their diaries, newspaper articles, belongs to the world of conscious awareness, body-and thinking-let's call that feels the awe of have been thrown into the world, to the materiality of existence. His attitude is that of the beholder aghast at a world which is sacred, but the center of which the gods have fled. So Caesar literature strange is celebrating epiphanies of the reality that very few notes: the pauses of life, the shadows they cast their guests, the imminence. César is a poet of the interstices, on the reverse, the cracks of being and living. Francisco Brines matching his poetic intelligence, the temperature of his insights with those of Claudio Rodriguez (whose work has nothing to do), because both had a "magical mind." The magic of the mind of Caesar came from a background of privacy only for you the man with the world, in a concentrated, isolated, life, the moments deleitadota own. César was amazed. Now a self-absorbed enjoyer. An epicure in his way: with the sobriety and temperance of Senecan also fed on him. César , which was entirely of this world, often seemed to be in it, does not belong entirely to the world we inhabit most agree. Maybe that private estrangement, with her original point of view of things, give him the look that makes it a very peculiar author. It was "a rare" in the high literary sense of the term: someone with a voice and a who knew how to tell their unique and exclusive adventure of life itself. A teacher who always return to touch us and wonder, through his words, because he had fallen over time. "
